Development

While initially formed to give input on one specific development proposal, NLWL has now expanded its reach to include other programs such as our community outreach.

That said, we still have concerns about the unmitigated effects of large-scale development proposed or occurring in our part of Oregon.

We plan to continue our advocacy for the rights of the citizens in influencing new development as it comes our way.

We do not oppose all new development but do feel that development should:

  1. Pay its own way and not burden existing residents with additional fees and/or taxes to pay for unmitigated impacts.
  2. Give back to the city in the form of open space/parkland dedication and additional monies for schools, police and fire (to name a few).
  3. Fully mitigate for all traffic impacts.
  4. Take into consideration the existing structures in the neighborhood and attempt, as much as possible, to blend in with those structures.
  5. Be able to meet all applicable city codes without, except in very rare cases, requiring variances from those codes.
Neighbors for a Livable West Linn is a community group in West Linn, Oregon.

We are dedicated to preserving the quality of life we have found in this city.

Towards this end we are working to provide our input on proposed commercial and residential development which threatens to severely impact our neighborhood with increased traffic and other problems.

We pledge to become, and stay, involved in the planning of these developments in particular, and West Linn in general, in order to ensure that our city remains the beautiful city we all love.

Neighbors for a Livable West Linn is also involved in community outreach. We refurbish donated computers and deliver them to deserving families in the West Linn area.
