What's Happening
with NLWL
UPDATE
(7/14/08) -- NLWL's
Fourth Annual Auction is rapidly approaching! It
will be held on Friday, August 1 at 7 pm. More
details are in the flyer below. Proceeds from the
auction are used to refurbish old computers and
purchase new ones for students in the West
Linn-Wilsonville School District who cannot afford
them.
This year we are trying
something new. If you cannot attend this year's
auction you can submit an email bid on
any of the auction items. All bids must be in by
Midnight on July 31. We will notify you if you are a
winner. Send your bids to
webmaster@NLWL.org. Please make sure to include
which item (or items) you are bidding on, the amount
of your bid, and your phone number.
Here is more information on
the auction:

We're still expecting a few
more items so check back occasionally for updates.
We want to thank all of the
local and national merchants who have so graciously
supported us again this year.
(3/23/2008) -- NLWL
has been busy since our last update. Since last fall
we have delivered computers to six more
families, making it ten families in all who
have received free computers. These families have
been selected because they meet two criteria: 1)
their children attend West Linn-Wilsonville schools
and 2) they do not have a computer at home. Most of
these families also have more than one child who can
benefit from the computer.
We believe that access to
computers is a must for children if they are to
be competitive in today's academic environment.
Some of the computers we give away have been
graciously donated by members of our community and
others have been purchased from Dell. Our
outreach page has photos
of the families we have been able to help.
Contact
us if you have a computer (2005 or newer) that
you no longer need. We will refurbish it and deliver
it to a family in need.
(8/24/2007) --
NLWL continues to work
with various agencies in the Portland Metro area on
arranging the purchase of the Tannler East site in
West Linn for use as a park. We have received
letters of support from numerous entities including
the Audubon Society, Defenders of Wildlife, Oregon
League of Conservation Voters, and many others.
